POSTERING
Advertising for the Haunted House usually begins 2 weeks prior to the
opening day. If you'd like to help post flyers or spread the word via facebook
and other social media networks. You are most welcome.
DECORATORS set decor
Got a few hours to spare? A day a week?
If you enjoy decorating, Come and Horrify this place!!
experience is not necessary.
This is an opportunity to put your creativity to use.
Generally speaking this is light duty effort, and its fun!
Props making
This is much simpler than it sounds. Often it is stuffing dummies with
newspapers and attaching heads. Or making a costume a little more gory.
BUILDERS
Got a few hours? A day? A week? Enjoy building creepy stuff? Got a truck!
This is a great part of the whole event. How often do you get to build really cool stuff?
Handy with a staple gun? got your own tools, great, feel free to bring em.
See schedule above for dates and times,
Audio/Visual
If you have experience with stereo systems and the proper ways to make things
sound their best, or can create a custom mix of spooky sound effects, for our
mp3 players. other experience is excellent also. There are other opportunites
for setting up cameras to livestream etc.
please call me. 604-907-2525
SPOOKERS
This is an absolute blast!! You get to scare the pants off of anyone who
dares to enter the Haunted House. Its really a whole bunch of fun.
Please arrive on site at least 30 - 40 minutes prior to your shift, this will give
you time to choose a costume for the night, some costumes take more
time to put on, and to choose where you want to spook from and who with.
The idea is to spook the guests and then back off so they laugh and have fun.
Using violence, harsh language or threats is not permitted and you will be asked to leave.
There are techniques to spooking to learn that will make your experience a whole bunch
more fun. The distraction Technique, Working together to get a good scare is an effective method,
as well. More information to come.
We have plenty of masks and costumes but feel free to bring your own as long as its scary.
-Wear black base layers and dress warmish, some costumes dont have much warmth.
Also use black make up around your eyes if you will be wearing a mask, this helps
make you look even scarier.
-Most of our costumes and masks and prop weapons, are very expensive and delicate
and require you to be gentle with them, so please treat them carefully.
When you are finished with your costume for the evening please hang it nicely back up on
on the clothing rack, if your costume has a matching mask, please return the mask to the bag
attached to the hanger so they stay together.
Please leave the Westin washrooms clean after yourself. We need to be very respectful.
